WebSentinel is a utility for monitoring the content of web pages for search terms at a scheduled time, optionally on a periodic basis.

Drag and drop URLs or use the "Current Browser" button to add URLs to the list window. Then Click in the "Search Terms" column of each row to open an editor, then type or copy the terms you want to search for in the content of that URL.

Select one or more items and use the "Date-Time" chooser to schedule their search time. Use preferences to specify a repitition, such as repeat every 24 hours. Various other options are available using the Preferences window. In particular enter your email address, and your mail server settings so that WebSentinel can email you to inform you of the search results.

Click the "Start" button to run the schedule. WebSentinel also logs its results to its own console log file named "WebSentinel.log" in your Logs directory of your Library.

WebSentinel is part of the Limit Point Software "Utilities Bundle" which includes all software at http://www.limit-point.com/Utilities.html. When you register you will receive a permanent password which activates all the Utility software. All upgrades are free, and new products always included.

What's new in this version:

- Added an option to turn off email notifications with a checkbox.
- Prior to sending email, email notifications settings are verified for completeness. Required items are: recipient email address and name, server address and port. Also, if an authentication method is chosen a username and password must be specified.
- The program now uses Keychain Access to save the mail server password.
- In addition to the option of logging messages to a console log, the URL list window also contains a log pane for status messages.
- Console logging is now optional; log messages have been enhanced.
- Searching can now be case sensitive.
- Added links for help (which is the WebSentinel web page.) Documentation updated.
- Removed "verbose" email logging; only errors are reported.
- Bug fix: if a web page could not be downloaded the message that it doesn't contain the search terms is no longer given.
- Bug fix: a small memory leak occurred during email. Follow the link and free download WebSentinel now.
