Rawker is a converter program for RAW files produced by digital photo cameras. It's philosophy is the good old Apple motto: "Keep it simple". It allows you to convert a single RAW file or batch process a folder of RAW files.
Before processing any files you can modify settings that may optimize the appearance of your image(s). These settings can be saved in a file and re-loaded later.
During batch processing Rawker shows the image it is currently working on. Rawker always produces TIFF image files with 16 bits color depth (which is 48 bits per RGB pixel).
Rawker is freeware and runs on Mac OS X 10.3 and later. It's written in Objective C using the Cocoa framework and compiled on Mac OS X 10.4.
Rawker uses the great "dcraw" program to actually convert the RAW files. "dcraw" was written (and is actively supported) by Dave Coffin. It's integrated into the Rawker application bundle, so you don't have to install it yourself.
When there is a new dcraw version available, it is silently integrated into the Rawker bundle (checks for new dcraw versions are done about once a month). The Rawker version number remains unchanged. When the new dcraw version behaves differently from the former dcraw version, adjustments are made to Rawker (even if they are invisible from the user point of view), and the Rawker version changes.
You can find more info about "dcraw" at Dave Coffin's web site.
Please see the Rawker Readme file for more infos about the interaction between dcraw and Rawker.
