The Perl Dev Kit (PDK) provides essential tools for building self-contained, easily deployable executables for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris, AIX and HP-UX.
The comprehensive feature set includes a graphical debugger and code coverage and hotspot analyzer, as well as tools for building sophisticated Perl-based filters and easily converting useful VBScript code to Perl.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 7.1:
- Perl 5.10 support - All tools included in PDK 7.1 support ActivePerl 5.6, 5.8 and 5.10.
Enhancements and Bug Fixes
- The GUI tools now work correctly on OS X 10.5.
- Unicode chars in login names used to confuse temp dir creation (#43697).
- Additional installed Math::BigInt calculation engines will now be bundled automatically.
- The value of $0 is now set correctly even when the application is execued by IIS.
- Tooltips and balloons in PerlTray can now display Unicode strings (#69952).
- Programs using the "--dyndll" option would sometimes crash on Windows Vista. This affected especially Win32::GUI applications. This problem more...has been fixed (#73717).
- Support for pod2usage() function has been added (#20990).
- A regression in PerlTray 7.0 has been fixed. The bug would terminate a PerlTray application early if it didn't define a ToolTip() callback (#68885).
