About Mac Flight Planner
The first application built for Mac OS X designed for planning flights for real world aviation. Goodway and PATHy are good planners but are limited to use with the X-Plane database. Mac Flight Planner (MFP) allows you to store the waypoints you use on your flights and maintain their accuracy yourself.
One of the biggest advantages to MFP is that you don t have to pay for a giant database of worldwide waypoints you ll never use. Most GA pilots will fly over 20-30 waypoints regularly in their local area and then only add 2 or 3 new ones when they go somewhere new. Why pay to maintain a database of a hundred thousand airports, navaids and fixes when you will probably use less than 50 in any given year.
Flight plans a built using a simple drag and drop interface, and with the plugin based print system, you can develop your own print layouts. Maybe you just want to add your flying clubs logo to an existing layout (source code for the two standard plugins included) or create an entirely new one to meet regulatory requirements. All you need is a knowledge of Cocoa.
Mac Flight Planner also includes a database utility for importing and exporting waypoints.
