J2chess 2.1 free download

 
j2chess is a chess program written in java. It includes an opening book of 15,000 games and can play games in three different modes; casual, blitz and blitz Fisher. j2chess can read ".pgn" library files and therefore can be used as a ".pgn" browser as well.

What's new in this version:

- new game dialogbox to define settings
- blitz and blitz Fisher mode are now available for new games
- keyboard shortcuts help is now available
- various user interface improvement (board, preferences and library frame)
- menubar items reshuffled
- menubar is now Mac OS X "friendly"
- game moves are preserved when j2chess is closed and then reopened
