iData 3.0.9

iData 3 is an easy-to-use database application for storing text and graphics. It is also very flexible and user-configurable. It can store information in either freeform or field-based formats, and makes it very easy to store and retrieve information. Great for grabbing web page bookmarks or linking to files on disk. Includes label and envelope printing -- with template layout and design, printing of batch labels and envelopes, and printing of single labels and envelopes. Two System Services: Grab URL and Selection, and Send Selection to iData.

What's new in this version:

Changes:

- The File tab of the Datafile Settings dialog has now been split into new General and Format tabs, placing datafile format-related items under the Format tab and leaving the General tab for all the remaining items.
- Added Fields and Find Box font settings to the Format tab in Datafile Settings. Previously all datafiles had to have one font for fields and one for the Find Box. Now each datafile can have its own settings for these fonts.
- Removed the following items from the Format menu: Set Font For Fields, Set Font For Find Box, and Set Default Font For Freeform Text. These are now all covered by the font items under the Format tab in Datafile Settings.
- Added the Basic VIew print options to the General tab in Datafile Settings. These options remain in the Print Options dialog as a convenience.
- Added an item to the General tab in Datafile Settings to always add new records after the current record (the only "option" in earlier versions), at the beginning of the datafile, or at the end of the datafile.
- Help buttons in dialogs now bring up the User Guide, rather than the old Help Web pages.
- Improved the speed and smoothness of the Print All Records (Basic View - Individually)... function.
- Added an "Automatically enable recognizable links" item to Datafile Settings. The default setting is on (enabled). If this setting is turned off, any desired links must be set explicitly. The Activate Web Links menu item (under the Tools menu) and toolbar button will still activate all the recognizable links in the Freeform Text Area of the current record, and links can be created using the Link... item in the Text sub-menu, under the Format menu, as well as the Insert Link to File or Folder... item under the Tools menu. Already enabled links must be turned off manually. The easiest way to do this is to select the text containing the link and choose Remove Links in Selected Text under the Tools menu (or type command-option-R), or click the corresponding toolbar button.
- iData 3 now omits lines in address blocks that contain only a single space or only a comma followed by a single space. (It has always omitted completely empty lines.)
- Changed all internal links from idata2.com to idata3.com.

Bug Fix:

- It is no longer possible to make font-related changes to the Find Box. Such changes could not be saved, and some of them caused problems with the Find Box display. Follow the link and free download iData now.
