This is a keyboard layout designed for typing Russian with an ordinary Latin keyboard. It is particularly suitable for students of Russian or people who don t often use a genuine Russian keyboard. Russian letters are mapped to the keys for similar-sounding English letters. The function of all non-letter keys is preserved and a US keyboard layout can be accessed temporarily by holding down the OPTION key. Because there are more letters in the Russian alphabet than in the English alphabet, some Russian letters are accessed with key combinations.
