FreeShare is a feature-rich, stable, safe and free client and server suite based upon the GNU General Public Licensed "Openline" source code. FreeShare's underlying architecture follows the original Hotline protocol. As such, it functions just like a regular Hotline client and server; and all original, or third party, clients which follow the Hotline protocol, should be able to easily connect to a FreeShare server.

While the FreeShare client and server suite is similar to the original Hotline software, in addition to a whole new toolbar and window icon set, and a new splashscreen, the FreeShare suite enjoys a unique feature set which you will not find in the older Hotline, Openline and Underline releases.

Changes in 1.0.1 release:

1. New button added to the FreeShare client toolbar to connect the user to the WunderWerkz Software website.

2. Client/Server-used icons have been removed from the user icon table located on the FreeShare client's Options/Icon tab.

3. The kick message which is sent to users who have private messaging and/or private chat disabled is now Admin-definable.

4. There are now separate icons for uploads folders and drop boxes.

5. Many GUI enhancements implemented in client and server window title bars and menus.

6. More new logical button icons in toolbars.

7. Many grammatical and textual corrections were made in some windows, as well as in some client and server generated messages.

8. Much better layout of some server options windows with added hints for new FreeShare admins.

9. Several new user icons. You must use the FreeShare client, and not the Hotline client, or a Hotline clone, in order to see them.
