Dropsound is a simple sound-playing application, designed primarily for playing samples. As such, I have made it with music producers in mind. It consists of a main window and queue. Sound files dropped onto either of these objects will load into the queue, and, if you wish, be played in sequence. Dropsound can then clear the queue, quit, or do nothing, depending on your preference. It also shows you a little bit of info about the playing file.
Dropsound is cool because it's simple and effective. You drop sounds onto it, and they play (usually). It can handle aliases without issue, and.. Well, I won't try to puff it up; I don't like false or misleading advertizing, myself. However, DS is rather useful; that cannot be denied. As well, it's freeware, which everyone likes.
What's new in this version:
A bug that prevented files from being open: fixed. When the queue opens, its height will be relative to the number of files (it has a limit, though). DS can convert to AIFF, either a single file or the entire queue. There is now a "Clear the queue" contextual menu item. Follow the link and
