So, you've finally got Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). No problems, until you try the new features. You find out that you hate Dashboard &/or Spotlight (or you must disable it for some reason). Or, you find that Konfabulator is a better choice for you than Dashboard. Wouldn't it be great if you could just disable it? Well, now you can. Thanks to the knowledge of the OS X community, FilKiFan Software is pleased to present DisableTigerFeatures! It can disable Spotlight and Dashboard, and if you ever feel like you need to re-enable them (or you are about to apply a Software Update), just press a button, and you're back to where you started.
What's new in this version:
- we are now using safer restarting code for Dashboard settings (Spotlight was already using this safer code)
- fixed /etc/hostconfig's permissions (after changing a spotlight setting, thanks to Leo M for reporting this bug)
- fixed "true" about box's listing of the company (this was actually fixed in a silent update to 1.0.1)
- clarified that the spotlight menu WILL remain in the menu bar after disabling Spotlight (also fixed in the silent update to 1.0.1)
- removed some lines from the documentation (bugs have been fixed, so we don't need to note them) . Follow the link and
